Positive Intentions

  • Doubt the Doubt
An excerpt from a conversation between Cristina Bornstein and Deepak Chopra on Sirius Radio, Wednesday July 5th, 2006. "you know I used to have a teacher and he said when you are doubting – doubt the doubt. If you are going to doubt anyway, doubt the doubt. The main thing is to have the clarity of intention – be very clear what your intention is – be as specific as you want, write it down. What do I want? and write down whatever thoughts come into your mind. Then look at that intention and put it away. Go into meditation, into stillness. And when you are in meditation you are not even thinking about the intention, it’s in the sub-manifest. You know there are certain steps – have clarity of intention, learn to be quiet, let go of all attachment to the outcome, let the universe handle the details. Remaining in that stillness having once introduced the intention. "

Happy Halloween!

Halloween is here! My favorite holiday!

True to the Halloween spirit, Rumi & Raja dressed up and went to the Tompkins Square Halloween Dog Parade. They looked so handsome and they were ready to save the world! Rumi was Superman, and Raja was Batman! I posted some pictures of my superheroes.

This year I am spending Halloween in Japan, and since I am unable to participate in all the grandiose preparations and celebrations in New York, I'll share with you some of my favorite memories. My assistant Lennox conducted a very formal interview, asking all the important questions, and here are the results!

Lennox: Why is Halloween your favorite holiday?

Eddie: There are so many reasons! Halloween is about being creative without boundaries or limitations. I love being totally free to express ourselves in an open forum, free of judgement and criticism. I also think dressing up as someone or something else allows us to jump into a fantasy world that is new and adventurous. I think Halloween brings out fun, unrealized qualities in people and friends, some of the greatest surprises come from friends we think we have known for years!

Lennox: What is the best part of the night, creating the costume, getting ready, going out, staying out, or taking it all off?

Eddie: The process of getting ready. Over the past 10 years my friends and I get together to get ready, and we spend hours laughing, painting faces, squeezing into costumes, dealing with costume malfunctions, and taking pictures of it all to capture the moment. Going out as a group together and getting reactions from strangers and friends is always a highlight! The hardest part of the night is taking it all off. Sometimes I want to live in that world forever!

Lennox: What is the first Halloween Costume you can remember:

Eddie: Dracula! My uncle did my make up, and my grandmother made my black and red satin cape. I was so proud of that costume. I think that's when I fell in love with Halloween. Getting ready with all of my cousins and going out together as a group was so much fun!!

Lennox: What is the best Halloween costume you've worn (you're favorite)?

Eddie: There have been so many, its too hard to pick one. Last year, Lennox and I dressed up as twins. I wore a convertible skirt! :) You have to see the pictures. The hair alone took us 4 days to make!

Lennox: What's the worst costume?

Eddie: Superman in Vegas. It was a fun costume, but definitely one of the worst... (Hey I had to work with what I had!)

Lennox: Are you scared of the dark?

Eddie: I used to be when I was little. Dark hallways and silent corridors have always freaked me out.

Lennox: What's your favorite scary Halloween movie?

Eddie: Halloween!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lennox:The Munsters or the Adams Family?

Eddie: Adams Family, but I want to be related to the Munsters too!

My How the Time Flies!

Summer is past and Fall is here, and with it I bring you an update on everything we have been up to in the last 3 months.

Rumi, Raja, Kai and I escaped to Provincetown, MA for a relaxing week at the beach. We rode bikes, sipped drinks by the pool, sat under the umbrella in the sand, and chased rabbits in the beautiful garden - well maybe only Rumi & Raja chased the rabbits!

Once we returned to the city, it was time to start preparing for my next campaign shoot, and once again, I cannot wait for you to see this collection, it's amazing! We were so fortunate to work with Michael Brandt, the amazing Karen Levitt, and the fabulous Kristan Serafino. I really believe that we have created our best images yet, and I absolutely can't wait for this collection to launch!

The end of August sent me to Spain and Portugal for amazing events to support Collection 007: Streamline and also introduce Collection 008: Mystic & Magic. I had a great time, everyone was amazing. Kai met me in Spain, and we took a few days off to relax and tour the country. I've posted some pictures for you!

Shortly after returning from Spain, I was off again to tour through Europe. I went to Greece, Sweden, Czech Republic and Germany. It was a whirlwind trip, all of those countries in just 15 days!

Next up for me is Japan, where I will be for the launch of Collection 008: Mystic & Magic! I love Japan and I have an amazing time, every time I visit. After I return from Japan I will be tucking away the suitcase to spend some overdue time in my city, and hang out with family and friends and enjoy the holidays.

Until next time my friends, wishing you health and happiness!

June, Japan, July!

On June 3rd I returned to Asia for the launch of E. Funkhouser New York's newest color collection C007: Streamline. My trip consisted of a total of 6 presentations. On June 5th I gave 2 presentations in Tokyo at the Amway Japan Headquarters, On the 7th I gave a surprise presentation at the Amway Plaza in Osaka and 2 more presentations later that night at Club Platinum. On June 10th I made my way to Nagoya where I gave my last presentation at the Club Diamond Hall.

While in Tokyo I was able to take some time to do a bit of walking around and got to visit one of my favorite areas of Tokyo, Harajuku! I have always found Harajuku to be a place where I can extract inspiration from. Whether it be the one-of-a-kind stores that line the eclectic alley way or the streets which are home to those who embody the spirit of Harajuku or the people themselves, Harajuku is alive with color, style and attitude! For me it's like home away from home. As a matter of fact while I was in Harajuku I was asked if I would mind having my picture taken for an on line style magazine. I posed, the camera snapped away and about a week later my picture was posted on the site.

Looking at the photo I realize just how much I love the custom Kaftan top I was wearing made by friend and designer Martin Keehn and the custom made pants created by Stella Zotis, a long time friend and designer of custom rock regalia. Both of these amazing designers have worked in the fashion world for some time whether it be putting the finishing touches on a fashion collection for runway shows or creating clothing for rock stars like Deborah Harry and Sebastian Bach. I'm so lucky to know these two incredible and talented people and thank them both for helping me look my best and express my personal flare and creative self!

On another exciting note, today is the birthday of my first born, Rumi turns 2! Happy Birthday Rumi!

We are also quickly approaching another momentous occasion, my birthday! This year my birthday wish is to hit 400 friends on the (link) official E. Funkhouser New York Facebook! If you aren’t already one of the beautiful faces, sign up and join my group!

Check back soon, I’ll post some more pictures!

Holy Hong Kong, Make Up Man!!!

I'm in the air on my way to Japan, and since I have nothing but time, it's about time I update you on recent events!

First and foremost, the little baby Raja turned 1 in March, and he got to go to Zoomies and was spoiled with what seems like one of everything they had! It was a family celebration, with big brother Rumi teaching Raja how to celebrate!

April saw another monumental birthday, my brother turned 30, which was marked by a 5 day celebration, followed by 4 days of recovery!

When I last updated you, we had just finished shooting the footage for my biography video, and I am so proud to announce that it is ready for you to see! There are no words to express my gratitude to everyone who contributed, and especially to Kai for his beautiful editing job - except Thank You, Thank You, THANK YOU!! Everyone did a phenomenal job, you have to see it!

May also went by fast, no birthdays this month, but I did spend 11 days in Hong Kong, which is one of my favorite destinations! I went to support the launch of Collection 007: Streamline and attend the Beauty Viva Expo -- what an amazing event! You have to check out the pictures I put up. They absolutely outdid themselves, and I was so excited to be a part of it! This was a great trip, made even better by my assistant Lennox's company, and we had a great time! It had been a while since I had been to Hong Kong, and I was so lucky to catch up with dear friends and witness how much the city has grown in the last 5 years!

I'm sure I will have a fantastic time in Japan, so be sure to visit again soon to see how it all went!

These Are the Days of My Life

I looked up from my computer the other day, and was shocked to realize it was the middle of February! What happened to January! What happened to ringing in the New Year!
I know where it all went, but before I bring you up to date, let me get some overdue announcements out of the way:
Happy New Year!
Here’s to a prosperous and creative 2008, I wish you all the best, especially those of you that take the
time to invite me into your lives and stay updated with mine!

Happy Birthday to my beautiful sister!

Happy 11th Year Anniversary to Kai!

Congratulations to Lennox, my assistant, who celebrated her triumphant move to New York a year ago
this month.

This year is off to a fantastic start, with photo shoots and projects all over the calendar-and no end in sight!

The first major undertaking of the year was shooting my biography video. This was by far the largest crew we’ve had on set, with over 30 people! I am so excited for the editing to begin, shot on high-definition this is going to be a spectacular video. Shot by Peabody Award-winning Director of Photography Mark Smith, the video will introduce you to a day in the life of... ME! Take a look at some of the backstage photos of our shoot below!

Next up was the campaign shoot for C008! I am amazed to think that I am on my eighth collection, and confident when I tell you that you will be amazed. Shot by the esteemed Cleo Sullivan, this was another large shoot, with the video crew back to capture the inner workings and backstage magic involved in creating my campaign images! I had a fantastic team working with me, from hairstylist Kristan Serafino, wardrobe stylist Karen Levitt, and prop stylist Karen Portaleo. I have posted some of that shoot as well.

Up next for me is my product shoot, which will be a much smaller shoot, but I am looking forward to it just the same! It is great to be able to play with the new products and really get excited about each part of a new collection!

Keep checking in with me, as there are so many fantastic things on the horizon I will definitely keep you updated!

Winter Wonderland

It's finally time! One of the photo shoots I did with Mike Ruiz and Kristan Serafino has been published! The images are spectacular! Nic Rad added some amazing illustrations to the shots we took. I am really excited about the way the story came out, and I hope you are able to pick up a copy of one of the magazines featuring the story! We are being featured in the current issue of Prestige Magazine in Hong Kong, Trendsetter Magazine in Turkey, and Rouge Magazine in Bulgaria.

Just in case you are not able to pick up a copy of one of these great magazines, I thought I would post the images here for you! Enjoy them and I will be sure to let you know as soon as some of our other stories are published.

Halloween Happenings!

In the late 1950's and early 1960's , a happening was a performance, event or situation meant to be considered as art. Happenings could take place anywhere, were often multi-disciplinary, often lacked a narrative and frequently sought to involve the audience in some way. And that is exactly what happened at my house on Halloween! And what a happening it was!

One of my favorite parts of Halloween is the creation and imagination that goes into each costume. There were 9 of us at my house, all participating in the long standing tradition of getting ready together. We started at around 1pm. After 7 hours of preparation and glitter, we were ready to go! What started out as subtle day make up quickly turned into fantastic complements to the best outfits. We had so much fun getting ready we almost didn't want to leave! Everyone had such great costumes, but Rumi & Raja won the prize for the cutest costumes. Rumi was a pirate (aarrggghh!) and Raja was Piglet!

Once we left the house, we made a couple stops to show off our creations. We went to Park, which was decorated in the theme of Alice in Wonderland. Caterpillar smiles and oversized playing cards adorned the walls and hung from the ceiling. In addition the entire staff dressed the part and wore kooky costumes which seemed to be borrowed right off the pages of the book. We danced at Park all night then went to Hiro and danced some more! It's been decided amongst my friends and I: Halloween Should Be Every Week!!

Be sure to take a look at the pictures I posted, and check back soon for another update! I'm still so inspired by Halloween I'm thinking of dressing like a Pilgrim for Thanksgiving. Or maybe something a bit more colorful like a turkey!

The Scariest Time of the Year

It's time for one of my favorite holidays! I love Halloween!! The dressing up, the pumpkin carving the tricks and treats, did I mention the dressing up?

Modest is not the way to describe Halloween at my house. We have all been planning our costumes for 3 weeks now. None of the store bought, pre-planned costumes will suffice around here, it's custome creations ALL THE WAY! I don't want to tell you what our costumes are, you have to check back to see the pictures! But I can tell you that this is my assistant Lennox's first Halloween in the city, and that means no messing around! I will give you a little hint, we have been costume shopping at Patricia Field, Trash and Vaudeville and M&J Trimming...so watch out for us!

To celebrate over the weekend, my friends are coming to my house, and I have planned all the traditional festivities. We'll bob for apples, have tricks and treats, carve pumpkins and tell ghost stories. Then we'll light all the candles in all the pumpkins and sit in the dark and watch scary movies. Boo!

On Halloween, everyone is coming here to get ready, which is an event in itself. We're going to the parade and then out in the city to dance with all the freaks at one of my favorite Halloween hang-outs, Hiro!

Be sure to come back to check out my pictures from our Halloween adventures next week!

European Travels

Hi everyone! I hope you've been well since my last post. I've been very busy, but a different busy than usual. I have just returned from Europe, where I spent 2 weeks touring several countries and meeting lots of great fans!
We landed in Munich, Germany first, and traveled to Puchheim, where we attended a fantastic event with some of E. Funkhouser™ New York's top sellers. I love the opportunity to meet people who are excited about the brand, and these people were no exception!
Next we were off to Slovenia, where you can find some of the prettiest girls in the world! We had a press conference as well as another great event that took place in a castle there! I'm excited to share with you an interview I did for a local television station!
After the Slovenian event, we had a couple days off in Amsterdam, one of my favorite European destinations! It was great to relax there and see the city. It was spectacular!
We also visited Brussels, the place of yet another amazing event. Meeting so many people is such a great inspiration for me, it's so exciting to see first hand the excitement and buzz around the launch of a new collection!
The last stop on our tour was Birmingham, UK. We spent the most time here, where three days of stellar events took place. Everyone was fantastic, and I did a lot of autograph signing, picture taking, and speaking one on one with E. Funkhouser™ New York fans and make up connoisseurs.
I really had a fantastic trip, but I have to admit it's good to be back home and reunited with our boys, Rumi & Raja. And since we took so many great pictures, I am happy to share them with you--make sure you check them out!
Until next time!!!

September Shoots & Shout Outs!

As fall quickly approaches, I am busy as ever! I have had several photo shoots over the last couple of months, and as soon as the images are ready I'll make sure to share them with you! But I thought I could take a minute to share some great news with you!

I have just heard from Europe that marie clare uk has recognized my travel brush set as being a must have! This is great news for us! I love the travel brush set, and I am really excited to see it generating great reviews! The same brush set was also recognized by Wallpaper, so to have a great magazine like marie clare uk recognize part of the E. Funkhouser New York line is fantastic!

Keep an eye out for the launch of C006: Constellations coming soon, and make sure to stop by E. Funkhouser New York to view the entire collection and see more of the marie clare uk excitement!

P.S. I am thrilled to tell you that my Eye Color Duo is being featured as another Buy of the Day! And it doesn't end there! My Nail Lacquer is also featured. How exciting!!

The Boys of Summer

Summer is one of my favorite times of the year: the warm weather, the weekend getaways, everyone out at the park. Summer also reminds me of my childhood, running around with all the neighborhood children and playing until the street lights came on. Speaking of children, I thought you would enjoy an update on my little ones, Rumi and Raja!

I am happy to report that they are fantastic! So cute, be sure to take a look at the new pictures I have posted of them. Raja is growing so fast, he's almost as tall as Rumi. They are the best of friends, anything Rumi has, Raja wants, and its very entertaining to watch them play.

Now that Rumi is 1 yrs old and a big brother, it is time for him to start being a role model. He is doing private sessions with his very own trainer, and it's paying off! He has been invited to walk the runway at Pet Fashion Week here in New York! So he is very busy learning everything he needs to know for his supermodel debut, and of course little brother is right there behind him, although not yet as graceful as Rumi! Raja is too young for this year's show, but he might be invited next year!

As always, I encourage you to check back soon, as I should have some great pictures of my little supermodel to share with you!

Another Jewel of July!

Whew! July came and went in what seems like the blink of an eye! I just finished my second shoot of the month, this time with the great Mike Ruiz! I can't tell you how much of an inspiration his work is for me. I encourage you all to visit Mike's website. I have to admit I visit his site regularly to see what he's up to, it's always captivating and stimulating. The creative energy that he exudes is completely inspiring, and I was excited to get on set and get to work! When Mike isn't shooting, he is working with ANP as a contributing artist. He is taking part in an exhibition called Dt (Double Take), which is currently running at select galleries until Winter 2007. I encourage you to visit the website and take in the show!

Making her second appearance at our shoot was my dear friend Kristan Serafino, and again she created amazing looks - a genius! She also has an amazingly contagious energy and I love working with Kristan! Together we created fierce looks, Mike captured them instantly, and I am excited to share the images with you once they are ready! These shots are going to be published as an editorial story for a fashion magazine, the name of which I will announce in a future posting!

I have had the opportunity to work with amazing photographers along the way, but I definitely have been spoiled to work with both Michael Brandt and Mike Riuz! I am blessed! Of course I will keep everyone up to date with any and all amazing opportunities that come my way!

The Jewels of Summer!

Hello Everyone! I hope everyone's summer is going well! It's warm here in New York! Luckily I have been busy indoors with photo shoots! I am pleased to tell you all that I have just completed a shoot with esteemed photographer (Michael Brandt. He is a brilliant New York Based photographer, some of his clientele include Shu Uemura, Russian Glamour, Armani, and M.A.C. Femme Noir. I have admired his work for some time now, and was ecstatic for the opportunity to collaborate with him. He is amazing to work with, very professional and so creative.

I also had the pleasure of working alongside one of my favorite hair stylists on this shoot, the fantastic Kristan Serafino. Her portfolio is amazing, she has such creative vision for hairstyles. I always have a great time working with Kristan.

We had a great team assembled, the perfect compliment to our subject, which was the talented Elizabeth Berkley, from the movie Showgirls. She was wonderful to work with! She is beautiful to begin with, which made our jobs that much easier. It was such a comfortable environment, where we could all tap into our creativity and produce some really fantastic images.

I have another amazing shoot scheduled next week, so don't forget to check back soon to hear all about it!

Summer Lovin!!!!

Its that time of year again! You guessed it, my birthday. It’s on the Fourth of July this year! (and every year for that matter!) I love celebrating my birthday and this year is no exception. The warm summer weather, the fireworks, the cocktails, and of course the national holiday! So in the spirit of birthdays and celebration, I will be outside having a blast!

In other news, Baby Raja is adapting to life with his new big brother Rumi, I don’t know what we ever did before these boys came along! Rumi celebrates his first birthday this weekend, (he’s a cancer just like his dad!), and everyone is excited for the party! He’s growing up so fast, definitely a model big brother for his new very favorite playmate.

We are as busy as ever at the office, working on the finishing touches for the launch of my new website! I am very excited to share it all with you, as I am working with a great team to make sure it’s an amazing site! As soon as it’s up and running I’ll share it with everyone, so stay tuned!

Raja, the Newest King of Our Empire

Great News! Memorial Day certainly lived up to its name this year. Not only did we have beautiful weather, it was the perfect weekend to welcome the newest member of our family! His name is Raja, which translates to 'King' in Sanskrit. He is an Italian Greyhound, just like his big brother Rumi. He is grey with white markings, as you can see in the pictures. Isn't he precious?
Dsc01810 Dsc01797_3 Dsc01813

Rumi is very excited to have a new puppy to play with, and they already love each other so much! Raja is adapting to his new home quickly. He came to us from Indiana, and we brought him home in style! Because it was such a special day, we rented a limo for Raja's arrival. Rumi was so excited to meet his new brother that he arrived at the airport before Raja did! I can't tell you how much we all love our new family member!
As you have probably already guessed, things are exciting and busy around here as Raja familiarizes himself with his new home. As for me, I am as busy as ever, working on new projects and constantly developing ideas!

It's hot here in the city, the perfect time to go out and meet new people and soak up some culture. I am looking forward to a great summer, and I encourage all of you to create your summer plans and goals and see them through! I would love to hear what you have planned, and will of course keep you updated myself!

Inspiration, Celebration, Creation, Oh My!

Now that the winter months are officially behind us, I am eagerly awaiting all the new excitement spring has to offer. Earth Day was a beautiful and sunny day here in New York, and I hope you all had the opportunity to get outside! It was exhilarating to renew my commitment to recycling and living an environmentally conscious lifestyle, and I hope you all share my sentiments!
We are quickly approaching the announcement of the winner for the Red Hot Chili Peppers Video contest, so keep your fingers crossed!
Cinco De Mayo was another beautiful day here in New York, and I celebrated with several friends and ventured out to Brooklyn. The weather was gorgeous and it is always good to see friends and meet new people.
Last Friday saw another majestic New York City Tradition, Night Of A Thousand Stevies, which celebrates the amazing Stevie Nicks. The performances were fantastic and everyone had a great time. Held at Hiro this year, it was a great space and the energy was almost tangible!
Last but certainly not least, I wish a Happy Mother's Day to you and your family, and hope the day was a relaxing and pleasant time for everyone.
Amid all the holidays and celebrations, Eddie Funkhouser | New York has still managed to stay busy as ever, and we are excited for all our new developments. Stay tuned for some amazing announcements in the upcoming weeks!

April Excitement!

April brings another exciting month here at Eddie Funkhouser | New York!
I just returned from an amazing trip to Amsterdam and Ramsau. The scenery was amazing, and the events were fantastic. While on the road I had a guided tour through the red light district in Amsterdam and spent some time in the Alps in Ramsau during an appearance I made promoting E. Funkhouser New York. While I was in Vienna I stayed in Salzburg and visited The Flying Bull Museum (Red Bull that is!) It was filled with aircraft and motor craft collection that are just a few of the creator of Red Bull’s personal collection. Salzburg is also the birthplace of Mozart! I walked by his birth house and took a few pictures of the entry way and a plaque that is proudly placed outside the house. On the way back I took a few pictures of some of the castles that are nestled in the mountain-tops. It was an incredibly beautiful site to see! The weather was amazing in both the Netherlands and Vienna! It was hard coming home to the wet, cold weather here in New York.
Spring is just about here, and there is creativity and excitement in the air. I have several projects underway: new websites, new portfolios, and of course keeping an eye out for new opportunities that may be just around the corner! I can’t wait to share all the creativity with you, but I can’t spoil the surprise just yet!!
Earth Day (April 22nd) is just around the corner, and I encourage you all to get outside and enjoy nature. Plant a tree, start your spring recycling, clean up your beaches, anything that helps us all to remember how valuable our natural resources are and the importance of giving back!
And now for some exciting entertainment news! Greg Scarnici, (a friend of mine), directed a music video for a contest the Red Hot Chili Peppers are putting on for their song, "Charlie." The winner gets $5,000 and the video becomes the official video for the song! Keep an eye out for me, I think it's gonna take you a second to figure out which one is me! I had a great time being part of the shoot, and I am excited to share it with all of you!

Spring Fever!

Hi Everyone! Wow, what a busy and productive winter! My holiday season was wonderful, and I hope it found you and all your close ones in good health and spirits!

I am grateful to have such wonderful and inspiring people surrounding me, and it was great to see family and friends during the holiday season. I am also very excited to welcome the newest member of our family, Rumi , whom all of you can meet on his myspace page! I look forward to a prosperous 2007 and am excited for all the positive energy and creativity in store for us all.

Speaking of new creativity, I am really excited to announce that as of this month, Eddie Funkhouser Beauty, LLC has changed its name to Eddie Funkhouser | New York, LLC. This is an exciting step for me as I continue to grow and experience new things. I'll be sure to share each new adventure with all of you and look forward to your contributions and feedback!

And, speaking of new things, we have just wrapped another two brand shoots for E. Funkhouser New York! Once again, I was fortunate to be able to work with the amazing team I have pulled together over the past few years for brand shots as well as other E. Funkhouser New York brand related events. Words cannot express the respect I have for our breathtaking photographer, Cleo Sullivan, our brilliant wardrobe stylists, Michael Nash and Joseph Turla, and our luminous hair stylists, Kristan Serafino and Tiffany Brightman. The newest addition to the team this time was my personal assistant, Lennox Grayum, who is responsible for keeping me in order and on track. I would be lost without them all!

Spring is in the air as the weather here in New York City starts to warm up, and the energy and creativity stirring about is really exciting! I urge you to continue on your paths and listen to your creative voices, the world is full of endless possibilities!

Finding Lost Art

La1

On Friday I finally got to visit Jordan Betten at his Lost Art Studio. My friend and stylist, Michael Nash was kind enough to take time out of his insane schedule to accompany me.

Jordan Betten is best known for his exquisite leather and bead work. He is a master creator and designer of authentic leathers and exotic materials. He is a master artist who creates inventive pieces that transform the body and persona.

La12

His book, The Art of Custom Leather is incredible. As far as I know, there is no other book like it existing to today. Jordan was sweet enough to sign my copy. (below)

Book_2

Book_3

It's been sort of an evolution, arriving to the point where I actually met Jordan and got to experience his work first hand. I heard of him long ago and have seen celebrities such as Lenny Kravitz, Alicia Keys, Willie Nelso and others wear his wild garments. He has dressed so many rock stars over the years. But not until recently did I get to actually touch and work with his pieces. I recently used some of Jordan's beautiful pieces on our Collection 005 photo shoot. And they were even more than I had expected. Beautiful in proportion, with exotic feather and accoutrements. They were truly works of art.

When I visited his studio, his many pieces around the room were stunning. I was overwhelmed by so many beautiful garments. Jordan is a very laid back and accomodating. He was extremely patient as I tried on many different pieces.

Photo Shoot

C005_photo_shoot_1Just finished another major brand shoot for E. Funkhouser™ New York. This time around it was for Collection 005. I can't believe how quickly we are moving from one collection to the next. Seems like we just launched a short while ago. For me, though, Collection 005 is going to rock! I won't give away the juicy theme but I can tell you that it consists of some fabulous inspiration from all different periods of art, fashion and music. The images are by far our best yet...an amazing blend of haute couture, exquisite colors and magnificent styling.

Pictured above are my dear friends Michael and Joseph. (me and the model as well) Michael is an incredibly gifted wardrobe stylist who travels the world styling celebrities and models. His talent for gorgeous styling has been seen on Kanye West, Mekhi Pfeifer, Seymour Hoffman, Beck and others.

You can check out his amazing work at: http://www.nashstylist.com

I was so grateful to have him contribute again to our shoot. For Collection 005, his styling reached a new level of sophistication and beauty and I can't wait for you to see it!

Joseph, the one who is dominating the photograph with his fierce "Shade" is also a dear friend. His contirubtions to the shoot were amazing and I would be lost without his great sense of style and boyish fun.

Photographer Cleo Sullivan was the mastermind behind the lens for this shoot. Her work is absolutely brilliant. I think I am her biggest fan. (that's why this is her third round as photographer for our shoot)

You should definitely visit her site to check out all of her amazing images. http://www.cleosullivan.com

Cleo is a very accomplished photographer who works regularly in New York and Parish shooting for Vogue, Marie Claire and other famous mags. She has shot lots of celebs too. Check out the 'Celebs' tab on her site for more info.

The shoot was also special to me because I have the most amazing crew...a group of the most talented folks in their fields. Hair Stylist Kristen Serafino created some fierce hair. She is truly a rock star.

I would have been lost without my make up assistant, Leyda Quintero. I was lucky to grab her as she now travels all over the world sharing her stunning make up expertise. She is a true talent and no one else makes me laugh as much as she does.

I can't wait till you see the images. Unfortunately they won't be released until early 2007...but that's really not that far is it?! In the meantime, Collection 003 can be seen at:

And Collection 004, equally as beautiful will be out just in time for fall.Img_9866_1
